一、教学目标

To write an article about one’s friend using the expressions learnt in this unit
三、教学难点
To learn how to organize ideas when writing about one’s best friend
四、教学过程
(一) Revision
(师)T: In this unit, we have learnt a lot about friends and how to describe friends. Please say a list of words to describe people
Face
Eyes
Nose
Hair
Looks
Personalities
(生)Try to say out as many words as they can
(二) Lead-in
(师)Teenagers magazine is inviting teenagers to write about their best friends for the writing    competition What would you like to write about your friend?
(生)Talk about the topic with their partner.
(三)Presentation
(师)1.Listen and answer
 Now, let’s see how Daniel describe his best friend.
Listen and answer these questions:
1.Who is Daniel’s best friend?                           
2.What does she look like?                             
3.What is she like?                               
4.What would she like to be when she grows up? 
2. Read each paragraph carefully
Ask students to read carefully and tell me what Daniel talks about in each paragraph.
(1) Para 1 
Kate is Daniel’s best friend
(2) Para 2
 Kate’s looks
(3) Para 3 
Kate’s  personality
(4) Para 4
 Kate’s  future  plans
3.Show the structure of the article 
Can you tell me how to organize your ideas when writing about your best friend ?
Introduction: Say who your best friend is.
Main body: Describe his/her looks and personality
Conclusion:Write about his/her future plans.
4. Read after the recording
Please read after the recording and pay attention to some important sentences.
生)1.Listen and try to catch the answers to the questions
2.Read carefully and think over  what Daniel talks about in each paragraph.
3.Discuss the structure of the article with their partner 
4.Read and underline some important sentences
(四)Writing
(1) Ask students to write down the key words on the lines in Part  B
(2) Write a rough draft using their notes in Part B, Daniel's article as a model 
(3) Encourage students to use a variety of adjectives to avoid repetition.
(4) In pairs, students read, check and correct their partners' drafts. Encourage more able students  t o comment on their partners' drafts
(5) Ask volunteers to read out their articles in class.
