(一)Lead-in
(师)1. Ask ss to Say something about Nancy’s and John’s school lives
  2. Brainstorm
Ask ss if they can form a new word/new words using the word given? 
3. Ask and answer
Do you think it is easy to borrow books from Nancy’s school library?
Does John have a wonderful time at the Buddy Club?
(生)SS:
1. Nancy’s school has a yearly reading week.
2. John’s buddy listens carefully to his problems.
3. Both of them have a lovely time at school.

(1) Show the examples of words ending with “-ly” and work out four kinds of ways to form adverbs.

Add “-ly” to each of the words in the box on the left. Then put them in different groups.
