(三)告诉打电话一方受话人何时才空

●She'll be free at 4:30.
  她4:30才有空。

●He'd be finished in ten minutes.
  他十分钟后就完了。

●I think he'll be available at 5 o'clock.
  我想他5:00就有空了。

●He said he'd be free this evening.
  他说他今晚有空。

●She shouldn't be longer than a few minutes.
  过一会儿她就空了。

●I'm afraid he'll be busy all day.
  恐怕他全天都不空。

(四)询问对方有什么事

●Could you tell me what it's about, please?
  请告诉我，您有什么事吗?

●What's it about, please?
  请问，有什么事?

●May I ask what it's about?

●Is it urgent?
  有什么急事吗?

(五)告诉对方有什么事

●It's about our appointment on May.
  是我们的五一约会。

●It's about contract No. 753.
  是关于753号合同的一些事。

●It's nothing urgent.
  没什么急事。

(六)告诉对方是件秘密事情

●It's a personal call.
  恕不奉告。

●It's confidential.
    是件秘密事。

(七)得知对方有什么事后的反应
●Can his secretary help you?
  可否叫他的秘书接电话?

●Oh, I see. In that case, may I put you through to Mr. Green? He's the Vice President.
    哦，明白了。那样的话，可否接格林先生，他是副总裁。

●I'll ask him to call you as soon as he's off the line.
